Tisno gives you a rare freedom: an island day can begin by crossing a bridge. Further out, Kornati changes the scale completely, replacing village streets with the spare geometry of stone and sea.

One island, different villages

Make room for Betina's waterfront and wooden-boat heritage, Jezera's harbour and Murter town. They share an island, but each deserves more than a photograph from the car. Choose one or two, stop for lunch, and leave the rest for another day.

A village walk and a single swim usually make a more satisfying day than trying to cross the whole island in an afternoon. Confirm museum opening hours and local transport before setting out.

Kornati is a boat day

Kornati National Park is an archipelago, not a beach you can drive to. Organised excursions and private or chartered boats are different ways to experience it. The park authority lists visitor information and authorised excursion arrangements.

Before booking, ask where the boat departs, how long you will be at sea, whether park admission is included, what swimming stops are planned, and what happens in unsuitable weather. Departure ports vary; do not assume every tour leaves Tisno.

Choose the experience, not only the price

A smaller boat may offer a different rhythm from a large excursion vessel. Shade, seating, onboard toilets and time actually ashore matter as much as the route. Explain mobility needs and travelling-with-children requirements before you pay.

Let conditions have the last word

Wind can reshape an itinerary. Keep your boat day flexible and have a land-based alternative: a harbour walk, a longer lunch or a visit to Šibenik. Follow the national park's current rules and your skipper's instructions.
